Just for fun, I did some checking. I found a couple of articulate
websites dedicated to the show, but none buzzing with actvity. In fact,
one guy is even trying to revitalize a Hawaii Five-0 webring that
hasn't been doing very well in the interest department lately. Then I
checked the Yahoogroups, and figure that's where all the combativeness
involved in killing this one went.
I got a laugh, because most of the little members-only escapes were
dead too ... all but two of the groups are pretty much void of any
activity. It could mean that having been said so many times in as many
different ways, interest in the topic is at long last weaning.
That is, until the DVD release "planned for 2006" materializes. Yeah, I
know, but I'm quoting the official fan club website itself. However,
since we're already in the ninth month of this year, and nary even a
hint of one has been leaked out, I'll believe it when I see it.
Can you imagine the explosive pre-Christmas sales of an October
release? ...wow!
Also, I hope that when they DO get around to it, that they issue the
series in its entirety and original broadcast order -- even if each
season involves 2 volumes (which is likely). I'd hate to see an
introductory compilation of popular episodes some studio jerk decides a
certain demographic wants to see the most. I just want the complete
show if I'm going to buy it at all.
