Interesting episode this week. A few highlights:
1) Lucy and Kevin drive to a town in the middle of the
California desert to see the church she's interested in. It turns
out to be a combination church, school and bar - and the town itself
is effectively a group home of foster kids, whose parents are all in
prison. The "church" attracts parishioners from a variety of faith
groups from four surrounding counties. Kevin looks forward to the
thought of being the town's new sheriff, but Lucy has misgivings.
2) Ruthie wants her tattoo removed and gets into a battle of
nerves with her parents about who will pay for it. She's furious at
the notion of getting a job to pay for it herself but eventually gives
in. Eric wonders if Ruthie wants it removed if she really loves T-
Bone; and asks T-Bone how committed he is to her if he's willing to
give up college to pay for the surgery.
3) Martin lies to Sandy about playing a game so he get out of
babysitting Aaron and instead can send the night with Jane. Martin
and Jane make out - at the counter of the Dairy Shack.
4) Margaret helps the twins and Savannah put on fake tattoos
(courtesy of The Colonel) then borrows Eric's laptop so she can
ghostwrite an assignment for Mac - the first chapter of a novel. She
denies she "likes" Mac, and Mac insists he and Margaret are just
friends. Later, however, they do make out. Eric encourages
Margaret to consider applying for college.
