My guess is that it has to do with the nature of usenet. Usenet tends to
be
'antiquated', so old farts are more likely to use it compared with web
based
'blog'/'fanclub board' sites. So, ld shows maybe have a better chance of
enduring on usenet while newer shows are going to endure through web
boards
and e-mail fanclubs.
