I've been Googling for Usenet messages concerning the beginning of
Melrose... interesting to see what the hype was all about when the
show first aired and even before the premiere...
People were mostly excited/curious about:
Matt - is he or isn't he gay? The first non-stereotypical 'no big
deal' gay character not played for laughs... they said.
Jake - he is the hottie from 90210.
Alison - because they like CTS.
Drew Barrymore - ppl thought she was supposed to be a cast member!
The first post to ATMP was on Aug 3, 1992 "YEAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" by
Marie E. Copertino, and received no replies!
Our world has changed so much since 1992! WOW.
