The "Knots Landing" reunion was OK, but nothing great. They got a lot of
points from me for bringing back a ton of people like Ginger and Diana,
even
if it was just for cameos. The story itself was nothing spectacular, but
could have been a lot worse (see either of the "Dallas" reunions). It
would
have been better if Lynn Latham and Bernie Lechowick had written it.

I would really enjoy a scripted "Melrose" reunion, but it would take a lot
of exposition/contortion to get the original cast back into the apartment
building and each others' lives.

I suppose it could go something like this: Amanda has been back in L.A.
for
several years, having worked out her legal problems, and is a senior
manager
in yet another ad agency (we won't waste a lot of time explaining the
whole
fake death thing). She and Peter are still married, but are separated.
Alison is also back in L.A., working for Amanda (they did keep in touch,
as
we found out in season 6), and even living in the building. Michael is
still
there, too, and has become obsessed with a Kimberly (or maybe Sydney)
lookalike. Jane and Kyle live happily at the beach with their kids. Jo has
made it as a photographer and travels throughout the country for her job.
Jake never married the mother of his son (remember he moved up to Ojai to
run a diner with her). He got bored with the diner and moved back to L.A.,
and the son has become a troubled teen (maybe the mother died). Billy
works
as a writer in New York, for the same magazine that employs Jo (she got
him
the job).

All the non-L.A. residents head back to the west coast when Alison invites
them there for her wedding. Will Jake and Jo reunite? Will Amanda and
Peter
reconcile? Will Alison and Billy reunite? Or has she finally found
somebody
decent? What's up with the Kim lookalike? And will Michael figure out that
Jane's oldest kid is biologically his? We also get to see cameos from the
less im****tant later-season cast members, like Megan.
