I suppose this is old hat to all but diehard SB fans - but over here
Five is showing Sunset Beach - and I am revelling in yet another Aaron
Spelling babefest of the first order. Yet that said - despite the
huge ratings boost all the sexy ladies give it - there is something to
be said for this wacky soap just on the merits of it's kookiness. It
reaches the parts that other soaps can't - or probably wouldn't dare!
Where else would you see it's leading lady as a fly about to be
swatted? This is the most fun soap of the lot - because it refuses to
take itself seriously for a minute - but without descending into
slapstick. It knows the whole soap genre is silly anyway and never
tires of underlining that - with it's pregnent pauses and
stereotypical characters.
Vanessa Dorman is the textbook definition of the word `cute'. Such
toothsome smiles and dimpled cheeks are wonderful to behold. Shame
she got her marching orders so early - because the other girl who
played Caitlin may have been suitably lovely - perhaps more
classically beautiful - but alas she had all the charisma of a glass
of water!
Derek for Bond! Now Pierce has said he has no plans to don the white
tux again - hows about Clive Robertson for 007 - with Annie and Greg
as scheming villains? Remember - you saw it here first!
