Are you guys battened down to sit out the storm? It appears we may get it
a
bit worse than you since Humble looks to be ground zero. Thank goodness
it's a "minimal" hurricane! I'm hoping it loses LOTS of strength as it
travels over land, but they're saying we'll still get 65MPH sustained
winds
with gusts up to 75-80MPH (and, since this *is* Houston, flooding, of
course). As with all hurricanes, there is the chance of accompanying
tornados. I'm more worried about the high winds than the flooding - we're
on pretty high ground here, but we have 26 very large trees on our lot.
I'm staying home from work today in case I need to gather up the kitties
and
take off, but Ben would lose his bonus if he misses work, so he'll be
going
in to the office.
