Now, if I know you -- and the PPPGALF segment pretty handily pegged the
nitpicking pedantry in which you ata'ers like to wallow -- you're
wondering
about Wakko's coulrophobia. One of the original segments from this short
(that was for some reason cut in final production) actually addresses
this;
fortunately, it is included on the Director's Cut DVD:
DR.SNS: Say, I thought you were afraid of clowns?
DOT: [Rolling her eyes] Great, we finally clear out a.t.a, and now
Scratchy goes all Maynard on us!
DR.SNS: [Folding his arms and turning away] Vell, excuse me for being
observant!
WAKKO: It's just *other* people who are clowns, I can dress up like one
myself. As my appearance in episode 48, "Mobster Mash", directed
by Greg Reyna and Dave Marshall clearly shows.
[Yakko and Dot stare at him, wide-eyed]
Hey, I'm allowed to know that! It was me, I did it!
[His sibs shake their heads and look away sorrowfully.]
WAKKO: Yeah, well, maybe I'll post to the Internet about your secret
boyfriend! Then we'll see who's a fanboy!
[Dot looks agahst. Cut to embarrassing scene of her holding a
photo
cuddled in her arms, as she swoonily mutters things like, "Ooh,
you
say the sweetest things! ... Why, I'd love to have dinner with
you!
Tee-hee, oh, I am *not* the cutest of them all <giggle>!!" Then
she
takes the photo and starts kissing it, revealing it to be a
picture
of Mel Gibson.
Cut back to the scene already in progress. Wakko is glowering and
Yakko is smirking.]
WAKKO: [Turning to Yakko] And you, too!!
[Yakko looks agahster. Cut to embarrassing scene of him holding a
photo cuddled in his arms, as he swoonily mutters things like,
"Ooh,
you shouldn't have! ... Really, you're just so clever! And good-
looking too, there oughtta be a law! <wiggling eyebrows>" Then
he
takes the photo and starts kissing it, revealing it to be a
picture
of... Yakko.]
There's also an interesting commentary track by the writers, in which they
discuss things like how Mr. Puppethead is really an "ego-*externalising*
actualisation tool", but Scratchy kept muffing his line so they changed
it.

in that cartoon so wrong, it's hardly enjoyable" Green
