Uh...you could not be more mistaken. BBC America is wholly owned by
the BBC in the UK. And yes, while the BBC in the UK is a public
service and is financed in part by the license fee paid by the
citizens of the UK, it is also financed by its commercial properties
owned by BBC Worldwide. BBC America is one such property.
