Helping out a *single* contestant with a question is a whole other
matter than whether or not the question itself is legitimate. I can
think of no conditions under which such assistance could be kosher.
The evidence for or against such contest-tampering apparently is not
very definitive. If it was, there would be no controversy about the
matter -- as there is year in and year out. <s>
But the fact that BB's answer to its teacup question was right doesn't
surprise me in the least -- with or without non-kosher tampering. When
something can be established as a fact, or not, with the evidence
easily going out to the world at large, would anyone dumb enough to
give out a wrong answer last long enough at CBS to get that answer
live to Julie? And could I put it in a more clumsy way? <s>
