Big Brother 9 was definitely the "Survivor: Thailand" of the BB
franchise. What went wrong?
1. Horrible twist. The couples twist took the strategy right out of
the game, which is what a lot of people watch for (myself included.)
The twist shouldn't be something that alters the game as much as this
one did. Since sooo many fans complained about this twist, I expect
they won't have such a drastic twist in BB10.
2. Bad casting. They went for more sleaze this season. Well, they
got more than they bargained for. Since they actually had to have a
meeting with the cast and tell them to be less trashy, I expect this
to be rectified next season. My only worry is that with BB10 slated
to start in mid-July, they will rush casting and we could end up with
crap again.
3. Too many shenanigans! One week they fake evict Allison/Ryan, the
next week they fake evict James and have him pop out of a mystery
box! Since they got crap for this one too I expect a cleaner game
next season.
All in all, I feel like production will learn its lesson from season 9
and bring back the show we love in season 10. IMO, the three seasons
before this one were the best seasons, so I really hope they can get
back to that quality. This one was just too many gimmicks and too
little gameplay from beginning to end.
