Er, my mistake was not in the arithmetic, but in mis-phrasing the
question.
A better re-phrase of my question would be:

   So she was 20 to 21 when BtVS was first aired?

After reading David's post, I surfed to the following Wiki
page(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buffy_the_Vampire_Slayer_%28TV_series%29),
which says that BtVS was first aired on March 1997. If Wiki was correct, I
wasn't that off.
