Something that occurred to me.

There was some discussion in the previous thread about "why 
Angelus?"--why was Jasmine so focused on Angel to want to desoul him?

Upon further thought it seems like a better question might be "why 
Cordelia?"  Once Jasmine decides to use Cordelia as her vessel to 
bring herself into the world, it makes sense to consider Angel the 
biggest immediate threat and to want to neutralize him, first by 
turning his attention elsewhere and then by bringing forth Angelus 
(which not only removes Angel as a threat but diverts the attention 
of the rest of the Fang Gang to Angelus.)

However, one might think that it would be a better idea NOT to pick 
as your vessel someone who has a guardian who is a "Champion" and a 
vampire-with-a-soul-destiny-magnet.
