Pretty sure glamour was involved in his transition at the start of
8.13 too; I was specifically talking about his hair colour, though...

Though I did come up with the theory that Xander "wrote" to Dracula
after Anya's death as a way of processing his grief, because he
couldn't talk to any of his friends (they were all too wrapped up in
their own stuff), and the only other people left alive who'd even
heard of Anya were D'Hoffryn and Dracula. He wrote "Count Dracula,
Transylvania" on the envelope, dropped it in the mailbox, and never
expected anything whatsoever to come of it... certainly not a reply.
