Your restrictions change what I argued - that lots of people don't find it
obvious. That's not limited to those claiming to know a Jamaican accent.
Indeed, that's part of my point. It works at obscuring her origin because
so many people don't recognize the accent well enough to pinpoint the
source.
But all sorts of opninions have been expressed about her accent -
including
that Jamaicans don't really sound like that. Just do a Google search on
this group for kendra accent. Here's one example that covers a variety of
thoughts - though there are many more.

(Most of the discussion is deep into the thread.)
I get a kick out of that one because of this remark:
-- I saw her again last night, and...I gotta admit, she's got enough
accent
on her for 4 or 5 voices at least! Where from? Ah, I think I know...as
a hard-core, by-the-book slayer, she's developed a voice pattern so
broad, so ambiguous that pursuing vampires are completely stumped as to
her country of origin - they seek her in Louisiana, French Guiana,
Ireland, Swaziland...that damned elusive Kendra. --

Please note that I was responding to whether it was believable that Marti
Noxon didn't find the accent to be identifiable, not whether the accent
was
Jamaican based. Her perception is her perception whether it's based on
ignorance or not.
I'm already on record agreeing that Jamaican (from some local region of
Jamaica) was the foundation of the accent. The best information that I've
seen (and heard) appears to confirm that.
That doesn't change how what showed up on the screen confused so many
people. Nor does it establish that the purpose was to fix Kendra's origin
as Jamaica.

Well, dialect includes accent, but whatever. I wouldn't know if
vocabulary
and grammar were affected. It's kind of nitpicky and avoiding that the
point wasn't her command of world accents either.
