When I read the announcement concerning the cancellation of the series
"Carnivale" for the reasons stated by HBO - MY BULL**** DETECTOR rang
incessantly. Let me ask you;
How can an organization like HBO/Time Warner/AOL complain about
production costs or complain and dictate smoke-screen excuses about
"International markets". This is the same network that renewed "The
Wire" after it crapped out albeit not talent wise but as far as numbers
- a failure only to be spared the hatchet. I wonder if this is a taste
of political correctness over quality acting and production. I bet it
costs more to produce "The Wire" than to do "Carnivale" Most of
"Carnivale was done via CGI anyway. Whats happenning too is that they
(HBO) are being BOMBARDED with pitches to do these "Mini-series" format
shows that they are so successfull in marketing. But honestly HBO - You
could have given this guy a chance to wrap **** up...even if its a 2
parter, Carnivale was QUALITY drama - Be straight shooters and
reconsider letting the guy at least wrap up what was an exciting and
driven story full of surprises. What a shame to just abandon this effort
with a "thank you, now **** off"...
