& yes, the "Russian"/"management" DID have to give his life
to sup****t
Ben's quest, which is to kill his (management's) own son. wow, now THAT is
sacrifice! - which if Ben now claims he "is" what management"was",
he should
be prepared to do.
Another tidbit that would've been helpful that she says I missed in the
very
first
episode, this whole show started with Ben watching his mother die.
She refused to let him touch her, calling him a demon & worse. In
flashbacks they show him as a little boy petting a kitten that his
mother declares had been dead & buried...she refused to ever let him
touch her after that. (thus, when you see him start his affair with
Ruthy, he has issues with letting her touch him)..and also he's a kid
who grew up being called a demon. Something else that was never
explained is that even before his mother died, he was wanted for
murder. (remember, they got the cops off his tail by passing off
Sofie's mother's bones as his). The story never got told even who he
was accused of murdering, or why (did he save somebody that way by
accident before he'd learned that he had to take a life to give a
life? If so, who did he save then?)
This led her to realize the huge connection between Ben & Sofie...both
had mothers who hated them. You see Sofie's mom was raped by a guy
with the tree tatoo (thus she hates the 'child of evil', we have yet
to see whether or not Hack Scudder has a tatoo to go with his powers?
It was also alluded to at some time that Ruthy had had an affair with
Hack Scudder, so is her giant son also Ben's half-brother?
And another connection that I just noticed in this episode & I wonder
if it's connected earlier, is it odd that Ben was saving somebody
while Justin's sister was murdering? (maybe it wasn't the vultures
after all?)
hmmmm. I love this show!
