It seems that CN is moving Toonami to Jetstream, perhaps someday soon even
the last remnants (Naruto, One Piece, and DBZ) won't even be on tv. Well,
anyway some are some thoughts I had about the shows there, and some other
new ones, even though they are not Toonami Jetstream shows.
Eyeshield 21: I am still not big fan of sports anime, unless all the
characters are cute girls in leotards/short skirts like in "Battle
Athletes." Anyway, I watched the whole first episode to give it a fair
trial, and I think the main character, Mr. Eyeshield, sounds a lot like
Goku, and he also has the spiky hair like Goku. I also did not realize
that
football was that popular in Japan.
DBZ: They are showing the old "Rock the Dragon" episodes with parachutes
and not the new redubs. Could this be because Funimation charges very
little for the old dubs, but charges really big bucks for the new ones? Or
is it that they won't let CN show them because they want the new redubs
for
their own channel.
Megaman Star Force: I just did not get all that interested in Megaman
that
was on Saturday morning, or whenever it was on, so I just am not
interested
enough to even bother watching this version. I can't even remember if it
was on the KidsWB or CN.
Transformers: Is the new show a remake of the original series, inspired
by
the movie perhaps. This looks like a "Toonami-like" show, at least. CN
has
had other transformer shows, Cybertron and Armada, at least in the Toonami
bloc.
George of the Jungle: Looks like it just might be appropriately silly. I
liked the old one.
