You're right that new regulations have really sucker punched the 
Saturday morning cartoon block on the over-the-air broadcast networks. 
If you include cable in the mix, however, one can make the case that the 
sort of content you would see on Saturday mornings is now more plentiful 
than ever. Twenty-four hour cable channels Nickelodeon, Disney, and 
Cartoon Network present more of these shows in a day than CBS, NBC or 
ABC would broadcast in a week.
