"Garth Marenghi's Darkplace", like many of the failed Adult Swim
comedies, is a one-joke show. The joke worked in the pilot: the notion
of this narcissistic horror writer whose self-inflated image causes him
to view his dated, turgid 1980's potboiler as an artistic triumph was
pretty funny. But after a few episodes, this one gag has been driven in
the ground.
The current AS comedy line-up is pretty weak. Time to pull out the
"Space Ghost Coast to Coast" DVD sets.
