Ranma 1/2 went, what, about a decade?  Same with Dragonball/DBZ.  Some 
manga series are older than *I* am - and are STILL going.

So long as there's an audience, there will be an Inuyasha.  I doubt its 
finale will be any more decisive than, say, Ranma 1/2's.
