The influences of underground comix in the art, as well as bits from
Yellow
Submarine -the aging satyr looks very much like a Blue Meanie- and touches
that bring to mind Gahan Wilson both date and give it a certain historical
context... and you're right that this sort of thing wasn't done that often
in the days before animae and adult swim, and all the other ''cartoon''
work
so common these days.
