Oh, I didn't realise there had been a big campaign. All I knew was that
the same channel in Sweden started showing the whole series again soon
after it had finished. Which I was very impressed by, because I don't
know of any other channel that has ever shown it a second time.
Certainly not without a gap of a few years!

Oh my God! Thanks for the information! I wish I had known that sooner. I
have quite a few missing episodes that I could have caught on a Sunday
morning.

I guess it would just be such a huge project that nobody has attempted
it. I know there was someone uploading a few episodes in Real Media
format to an ftp server perhaps a year or 2 ago, but I don't think it
ever got popular. The picture quality wasn't that great.
I wish I had one of those new satellite boxes that can record the MPEG-2
stream directly to disk. No need to even use a TV card to record from
video tapes - just convert the MPEG files to DivX, or even just burn the
MPEG directly to DVD! 692 episodes of Prisoner on DVD would take up a
lot less shelf space than VHS tapes :-)
