Tired of all the scary shit about the B.AD? Well, here's more:
Have you heard of this book? I heard a part of an interview with
the author on the Rachel Maddow show yesterday. It's a
reinterpretation of many of the acts of the B.AD not so much in
terms of NeoCon politics, but in the light of their attempt to
vastly expand presidential powers by setting precedents and
packing the courts with "Executive-Branch-friendly" people like
Roberts and Alito. He claims that nominating Myers wasn't just
cronyism; she also fit that bill. He mentioned that Bush had
pulled out of the antiballistic missile treaty , a Senate
prerogative, and no one did anything to stop him.(I hadn't heard/
had forgotten that! but here it is:

Takeover
The Return of the Imperial Presidency and the Subversion of
American Democracy
By Charlie Savage
"...Savage suggests that after Sept. 11 a "perfect storm of
political pressures," including a compliant,
Republican-controlled Congress and a public fearful of further
terrorist attacks, enabled an aggressive White House to expand
vastly the powers of the executive branch and dangerously tip the
constitutional system of checks and balances."

every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense
a theft from those who hunger and are not fed,
those who are cold and are not clothed."
