is currently airing a commercial featuring a male patron and female
employee being understandably grossed out by a customer flexing and
stretching so as to make pronounced at his more undesirably (by us)
overexposed parts his fat extra-hairy body dressed in ultra short
French cut shorts and over-shrunken ****rt. By itself it's maybe
humorous, and perhaps that is entirely how it should be taken.
But suppose you're one of millions of hetero***ual guys, no Viagra
needed, who are not very hairy
and who do not com****t themselves as garbage cans? Suppose being one
of them and being fortunate enough to have been in the company of
women who like men you do in fact wear, say, shorts with a 3" inseam
(some guys after all have slightly shorter legs but compensate for
that by in fact wearing such shorts, especially if their legs are not
gross like the ones belonging to the guy in the commercial?) After
the Larry Craig affair, should they be concerned that if they go to a
Jack-In-The-Box, particularly if they go to the bathroom, some local
religious cop will try to discern if his feet are lying straight
forward in the toilet stall. If not and his shorts are not as long as
others can he then be wrongly ferreted out as gay and arrested?
Even if the ad is intended just to be funny, who dwells on this humor
after all? If I were to make an ad for a fast food chain featuring
stylistically out-of-touch, basically unattrative woman, what would be
my purpose? How is that funny?
If social commentary, is it by a man-hater encouraged by the religious
climate of making straight men afraid of being wrongly ferreted out as
gay? Or could it be by a religious guy obsessed with limiting other
men or acting like he needs to make them afraid of being wrongly
ferreted out as gay lest he be wrongly ferreted out as gay?
Is it for a business purpose?
Does it say real men go to fast food restaurants?
If yes, my hat's off to you. I dig the business purpose but frankly:
count me out as
I'm not a religious pervert or paranoid.
I for one presume that would be cause masculine insecure religious
men
are presumed more inclined to limit themselves to food they perceive
as
fattier and more self-destructive. (Regardless of whatever healthful
fare Jack-In-The-Box actually offers. I concede most of your
offerings in fact
afford some nutritive value.)
In Western religious culture the inquisition against the gays is
aimed at making straight guys afraid of being wrongly ferreted out as
gay so as to increase population.
This limits you, makes you an object for judgement and
scapegoating.
It's also the core basis for society's foundation in denial and
hypocrisy. That's because Western religion CAUSES the propagation of
gays, and what's more, in a ratio of 3 lesbians per male gay person.
While in the West it's typically estimated about 10 to 13% of the
males are gay (vs. 2 to 3% in Eastern nations) that implies 30 to 39%
of the females.
