Wow, what a difference a cliffhanger makes. CSI's 8th season
premiere drew over 25 million viewers, (over 2 million more than last
season's premiere) making it easily the #1 show for the week and
beating out its head-to-head competition, Grey's Anatomy, by over 4
million viewers. (Dr. McDreamy who?) We'll have to wait and see if
CSI can keep its newfound momentum up, but barring a complete
midseason collapse (Jorja Fox's exit in November may cause a mass
exodus of viewers, who knows) it will probably be the #1 scripted show
overall for the 6th year in a row. (American Idol and Dancing with
the Stars are unscripted shows)
CSI: Miami's premiere made the Top 10 (albeit barely) but CSI: NY's
premiere failed to crack the Top 20.
