I think I missed that part. On the other hand, since we only saw a
few scenes with the wife, and that hasn't been in a considerable
time, I assumed the marriage was over. It had that tone at the time
of a marriage they hadn't given much thought to, after all
it was so sudden (at least to us viewers). And since the show
didn't deal with it even in passing after a certain point, it
seemed certain that the show was hoping everyone had forgotten
they'd gotten married.
