Eh. They solved the case, it's just that the criminal got off.

I think Sara already got her revenge, and the little girl got her
comeuppance, even if she wasn't legally punished. I think the whole
point to Sara's decision was that she didn't want the revenge. Her
coming back, even to put the little girl away, would be a step
backwards for Sara. It's time for Sara to stop focusing on death and
focus on life.
If and when we see her in future episodes, I hope it's working with
children.
