I saw a prototype of something like this on the Military Channel. If I
remember, each barrel had multiple bullets stacked up and fired them one
at time. If one failed to fire, it was puched out of the way by the one
behind it.
The intended use was a point defense system on a ****p. If a missle made
it through the outer defenses this thing would put up a wall of lead that
would shred anything it hit. Clearly you only get one shot as it took
forever to reload.
