Well, it's pretty obvious that both CSI: NY and CSI: Miami went
through a major style change in the Fall of 2005, where Season 2 of
CSI: NY and Season 4 of CSI: Miami started filming in much brighter
colors than the previous year, more exciting CSI lab sets were built,
and the characters were less "buttoned-up" (sometimes literally; e.g.
Mac stopped wearing ties in Season 2 of CSI: NY). Was the style
change good or bad for the shows? Curious to see what other people
think.

P.S. If you own the DVD box sets, check out an episode from Season 3
of CSI: Miami and compare it to that of Season 4, the visual
difference is night and day. Ditto with Seasons 1 and 2 of CSI:
NY. The original CSI has gone through style changes of its own over
the years, but they appear to be more subtle than its two spinoffs'.
