Oh, found out that Jason Segel of "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" is also
on the CBS sitcom "How I Met Your Mother" (Don't watch it, but heard
it may be the "Friends" of the new 20-something generation), so yes,
he wouldn't be on that kind of show if most women didn't consider him
attractive. Interestingly enough, TPTB at HIMYM did a CSI parody of
its own to promote their sitcom, shown here:

=46rom the clip, looks like HIMYM also stars the former Doogie Howser
and the erstwile "band geek" from the American Pie trilogy (they grow
up fast, don't they?); the other two cast members I've never seen
