I don't know if all producers of all the shows that have newsgroups read 
them, but if they're smart they've got someone on staff at least browsing 
them for topics that get a lot of attention. And, I've noticed more than 
once that Simon & the gang on American Idol will address something that
was 
brought up in one of the American Idol newsgroups, so I know they're
keeping 
up with the fans opinions.
