Before the miniature killer story line I would have said no, no way, no
how; 
they have better things to do than read the fan sites.  But then during
the 
lab rats episode where they all looked at Hodges suspiciously after he 
postulated on the basic profile of the killer, -speculation that Hodges
was 
the killer ran wild on all the fan groups and that seemed to be a nod to
the 
fans.  And when speculation arose that the killer was Grissom 
himself...there was an episode showing Grissom putting together his own 
miniature.  There seemed to be more that just a wink and a nod in those 
episodes to all the different fan groups and the speculation.  And the
promo 
for the epi when Sarah left the promo used the fan term "GSR" for Grissom 
and Sarah.  I will speculate that the producers would know that CSI is the

type of show that attracts a geek/cult type audience and they do what they

can to keep the core audience happy.  I think the producers are smart
enough 
to know it's the fans that keep shows on the air.  Keep the fans happy,
and 
the show stays on the air.

Maybe Lost and Heroes (and others) should remember that rule.
