I vaguely recall reading at the time that JM Straczynski actively
avoided the Babylon 5 newsgroup(s) - something about avoiding
accusations of plagiarism, should an episode's plot happen to mirror
an idea or discussion presented online. But then, that was way back in
the mid-'90s.

Doesn't hurt/help that Petersen is good at playing creepy and
obsessive (but in a GOOD way, mwahah) - I would've been disappointed
if the writers had Gone There (too easy), but he would've totally made
the denouement scene his *****.

Yeah, I think they've been aware of "GSR" for quite some time - don't
recall the episode and haven't time to look for it, but I think there
was one in what... season 3? 4? that had acknowledgement and
discussion of the term in the DVD commentary.
