End joke in The Car Salesman

I watch CYE solely on DVD's and have just finished Season 2's The Car
Salesman.

For the life of me, I don't get the joke at the end ... when Larry and
Cheryl are talking loudly in bed and told to hush.  Who's hushing them?
 The house noise?  or the guy who offered to trace it?
