Anyone else notice what an utterly unhelpful, selfish, total ****ing
***** Cheryl is in this episode? It's like she has no empathy for
Larry whatsoever. She's the one who goads him into taking the test (so
Lewis will "feel better,") offers a rationale for why he should give
up his kidney every time he mentions a reason why he doesn't want to
("Maybe this is why you were saved from drowning,") sides with
everybody else in the eenie-meenie-minie-moe debate when she should be
taking her husband's side, and, of course, won't give him any ***.
Susie may be the biggest ***** on the face of the earth, but at least
she stands up for her husband, asserts herself and insists it's NOT
GOING TO BE HIM who donates a kidney. Where's Cheryl in all this? I
think this was the subtext of the episode, that when Larry really
needs someone to stand up for him, when he's in an awkward situation
and can't comfortably say no to someone when he really should, no one,
not even his wife, will step forward and do so.
