If everything in the dream season remained in place, what would have
happened to Ewing Oil?? Angelica gave the FAKE but authentic looking
paperwork to J.R. for giving him the rights to have the oil wells
uncapped in the Marinos deal that Alex Garrett was refusing to do.
But after talking on the phone with Jack and hearing Jacks car explode
in the background, and Jack yelling and screaming, J.R. ran out of the
office and left the paperwork behind on his desk, which of course then
got blown to bits thanks to Angelicas briefcase bomb.
So if everything was left in place, what would J.R. have done to save
Ewing oil?? The papers forcing Alex Garrett to uncap the wells would
have been destroyed in the explosion. What would J.R. have done to save
Ewing Oil?? Lets not forget, Franklin Horner was waiting for J.R.'s $7
million dollar loan payment or he was going to foreclose on Ewing Oil.

I can't believe how wimpy they made J.R. seem in the whole Alex Garrett
deal! Usually J.R. gets whatever he wants from people by uncovering dirt
on that person, or by setting them up, or blackmailing them ( i.e.
Vaughn Leyland, Alan Beam, Walt Driscoll, Peter Richards, etc, etc. ).
J.R. will usually use every dirty trick in the book to get what he
wants, but with Alex Garrett, J.R. did absolutely nothing to force
Garrett to uncap the oil wells, J.R. was just a big pushover and pouted
as Alex Garrett walked all over him.
