Dark Shadows Drama: Bloodlines VIII

by Sarah1795@[EMAIL PROTECTED] (The Ghost of Sarah Collins) Sep 24, 2007 at 02:42 PM

Barnabas arrived in Roger's office shortly before eleven thirty that
morning, his secretary showed him in and asked that he wait for
Mr.Collins to return, "he was called away for a moment." Barnabas could
see that Roger's secretary was impressed by him, by her sweet smile and
how nonchalantly she brushed his hand with hers as she showed him to the
chair in front of the large desk in the office, not to mention she could
not take her eyes off him until she had to close the door.

Waiting for a few minutes Barnabas noticed a small table, on it were a
coffee pot, an assortment of doughnuts and other pastries, along side
that was another tray on which lay fresh fruit, and beside that was a
verity of cold cuts, cheeses and breads... beside the table on the floor
was a small cooler filled with Ice in which lay cans of soft drinks.
Barnabas chuckled to himself. "Is this what Roger thinks is brunch?"
Returning to the chair Barnabas waits for Roger.

Roger enters his office, a look of concern on his face, he greets his
cousin. "Hello Barnabas, I know we had planned to have brunch together,
but I've had one thing than another either break or some program go
haywire. I hope you don't mind if we just grab a bite here in the
office." Barnabas reassured his cousin that everything was fine,
complimenting him on such a nicely prepared table. While enjoying their
brunch and feeling that this would be a good op****tunity, Barnabas asks
Roger a few questions about Elizabeth. "I wish I had known Elizabeth
when she was younger, do you recall very much about her as a youth?"
Roger's face showed his sadness. "Yes, she was a very good sister, older
than me but not too bossy, she would sometimes treat me as if I were her
child, ordering me about, I didn't like that at all, but then there were
times she didn't mind taking me along on outings with some of her
friends. I also had my own activities and later went to boarding
school, where as Elizabeth stayed here." Barnabas sees his chance to
inquire after more information. "I would very much like to see photo
albums of those times if it was alright with you that is." Sipping his
soft drink Roger nods his head.. "Of course, there are family albums in
the study, you can't miss them, they should be marked by the year."
Barnabas feels as if he had made progress. After thanking Roger,
Barnabas drives to the hospital to see Julia before going to Collinwood.

Standing in the doorway of Julia's office Barnabas felt uneasy, as if
perhaps he should not have come unannounced. Hearing her familiar foot
steps Barnabas ducks into the office, waiting close by the door. Julia
walks to her office, she is not alone. Barnabas hears her giggle in a
low tone... someone is with her in the hallway... Barnabas listens as
she stops by the door. " No, not here, silly, I'll take my lunch break
in half an hour, meet me at the Collins****t Inn, I've reserved a room
there, just tell them your name is Julius, then wait for me." Barnabas
heard the man's voice whispering something, then walking away. Julia
waits a moment before entering her office. She is stunned when she
sees Barnabas looking straight at her.

Julia utters, "Barnabas." But before she can utter another word
Barnabas closes and locks the door. "So Julia, will you be taking lunch
at the Collins****t Inn today? what do you suppose in on the bill of
fare?" Julia blushes and tries to go to her desk when Barnabas takes
her by the arm, he brings her to him... Julia stands close, Barnabas
removes his coat and tossed it on the desk, placing his cane against
the wall he turns to her. His hands go to her lab coat, quickly he
pulls the coat over her shoulders, Julia can not move her arms,
Barnabas presses his lips to hers. "I don't think you will be going out
to lunch today." Forcibly Barnabas has his way with Julia the rest of
the afternoon.
