The Ghost of Quentin Collins meets The Ghost of Sarah Collins
~*~
As Quentin roamed around the empty family home of Elizabeth and
Carolyn Stoddard and Roger and David Collins, he came upon someone
he had not seen in the big house before. As he walked into the
drawing room of the estate, thinking he was alone in the great
mansion and that he was the master of Collinwood, he saw a little
girl, she was dressed in strange clothing and wore a bonnet on her
head. Walking towards her he smiles, but does not say a word. The
little girl looks up to him, she smiles in return, saying. "Hello."
Quentin's face expresses concern, as if wondering who the little
girl is. The little girl again smiles and asks. "Who are you?"
But Quentin does not reply, he merely smiles and nods his head.
The little girl does not smile at Quentin this time, her face shows
that she is wondering why he did not answer her question. So she
asks another question. "Do you live here now? did you make David and
his family go away?" Quentin's smile fades away. He nods his
head... he tries to scare the little girl so that she would be
frightened and run away screaming. But the little girl does not
feel fear, and she is not scared, she does not run away screaming as
Quentin wanted her to. Instead the little girl laughs in her little
girl way. "Your funny, did you know that?" Quentin becomes angry,
he goes towards her as if he is going to do something terrible to
her. The little girl backs away. "Are you going to do something
bad?" Quentin stops, then advances again. The little girl brings
up her little hand, this makes Quentin stop, she then places her
hands behind her back. Quentin can not move. Then from out of the
Dark Shadows enters Beth, she looks at Quentin with a worried look
on her pretty face.
The little girl looks at her and smiles. "Hello." she says. Beth
walks to her and smiles. The little girl wonders why she will not
speak to her. Beth looks at Quentin who can not move and looks
helpless, she looks at the little girl, as Beth goes to the little
girl, the little girl begins to sing. "London Bridge is falling
down, falling down... falling down.. London Bridge is falling down,
my fair lady... " The song makes Beth feel strange, she feels weak
and begins to bend down in pain, she begins to fade away... The
little girl continues to sing the song, as she does Beth screams in
pain and fades out of sight.
The little girl walks up to Quentin who is on his knees now, Quentin
still can not move. The little girl stands close to him. "I'm,,I'm
very, very angry, you made David go away... you made his family feel
scared of you." Quentin tries to smile but can not. Quentin
reaches his hand out so that he could hurt the little girl. Then
the little girl asks Quentin. "Would you like to hear the rhyme my
brother taught me when I was learning how to write?" Quentin shakes
his head. The little girls tells him. "Well I'm going to say it
for you now... That evil is... wicked." The little girl stops
and looks at Quentin. " Is well understood, the wicked are punished
so you must be good." Again Quentin only scowls at the little
girl. "You see Quentin, you must be good, or you'll be punished....
do you want to be punished Quentin?" But Quentin does not answer.
The little girl says. "Your not though doing bad things." Quentin
tries to make the little girl understand that he is a ghost. The
little girl again laughs. "Quentin, you hurt people." Quentin
tries to lie by shaking his head. But the little girl
replies. "That's not true, I know that's not true.. and so do you."
The little girl stands even closer to Quentin. "Do you know who my
brother is?" Quentin again moves his head to answer no. "My
brother is Barnabas Collins! and I am Sarah Collins... I am just
like you are Quentin... I lived here many years before you were
even born! Quentin's face shows surprise. I am stronger than you
are, even if you are older than I am.... Would you
like to hear my song again Quentin, like that lady did?" Quentin
shows fear for the first time, he tries to plead with Sarah to let
him stay. But Sarah replies. "No you will not stay here, you will go
away and never come back never! that will be your...... punishment,
I know there's good, and there's evil... because I learned it from
Barnabas, but you've forgotten it Quentin, and you have to
learn it all over again, you won't come back until you do! Goodbye
Quentin." Then little Sarah begins to sing her song...."London
Bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down...London Bridge
is falling down my fair lady.... Sarah kept singing the song until
Quentin had faded away and went back to his grave to learn how to be
a good ghost and not a bad ghost.
Sarah then went to the Old House and told David who was the only one
who could see her that the bad ghost's had gone away and that the
family could once again live in Collinwood.
David was glad that Sarah helped him and his family. Sarah was
glad that she protected David from the evil ghost of Quentin
Collins. Sarah also learned that Barnabas was not evil any longer
and would appear to him when ever he felt lonely... The brother and
sister would spend many nights laughing and sharing many secrets.
David knew that from then on the Collins family was safe from evil
as long as The Ghost of Sarah Collins was haunting them.
