The Final Days and Night's of Sarah Collins Chapter Nine
Sarah could hear the adults argue, the wedding had been postponed,
Miss Winter's would at times call someone by another name, upon seeing
Naomi, Sarah's Mother, Miss Winters was said to have thought she was
someone by the name of Elizabeth... Joshua felt the woman to be strange,
although Barnabas persuaded his Father to employ her just the same.
During her lesson,Miss Winters and Sarah could hear Barnabas exclaim
that the wedding shall proceed. As Sarah looked at Victoria she
wondered about what happened in her room, and why her mirror twin
implored that she help her governess. "Nothing could happen to Miss
Winters." Sarah thought.
As a gentle breeze passed though the garden Josette stood wondering.
"Why did I come here, I should be seeing to my wedding, I should be with
Barnabas... as Josette was thinking of her beloved, Jeremiah approaches
her. Placing his hand upon her shoulder Josette turns. "Barnabas..."
Taking a delicate step back, Josette becomes shy. "Jeremiah, what are
you doing here." Looking around the garden Jeremiah appears unsure.
"I don't know, I only knew that I wanted to be here." They both stood,
gazing into each other's eyes.
At last Jeremiah says. "Josette, Barnabas is my best friend, but I
can't help but want to hold you in my arms." He turns away. I should
leave, I shouldn't speak to you in this manner, I wish I could
understand." Josette moves towards Jeremiah. Placing her hand on his
arm. "Jeremiah, please stay." She sees the mark. " Oh, my." Jeremiah
turns to her." He takes her hand in his, at the same time both Josette
and Jeremiah connect the sign of the pitchfork that was on the back of
each of their hands.... as their hands touch the spell begins.
Suddenly Jeremiah held Josette in a loving embrace, in return Josette
caressed Jeremiah affectionately, their lips touch, each kissing the
other with a strong passion unknown to them, nor ever felt before.
breaking their kiss they both laugh and hold each other tight. "I
can't help but love you Josette, I don't care about the rest of the
world or anyone, as long as I'm with you, I'm happy."
Josette presses her face into Jeremiah's chest. "I feel the same
way...I don't understand what's come over me, I only want to be with
you, in your arms and no one else's." Again they kiss as lovers do.
Then, just as suddenly as they were drawn together the light of love
fades away.
Josette and Jeremiah stare at each other with different expressions,
their love for each other gone Josette utters... "Barnabas!" with that
Jeremiah sharply turns and storms off. Josette buries her face into her
hands and weeps.
Unknown the the couple they were not entirely alone, a small pair of
eyes watched them from afar, her eye's filled with tears as she
watched... sobbing into the window pane. "Barnabas... Barnabas...."
