The Final Days and Night's of Sarah Collins Chapter ten
Sarah cried herself to sleep that cold dark night. In her dreams
Sarah searches for her brother Barnabas, wanting to help him not feel so
sad, hoping to keep him from the harm she knew was waiting for him.
At the same time that Sarah searched for Barnabas in her restless
sleep she heard the voice of an unknown woman..." You can not help your
brother little girl, he will be mine... I shall have him, he will not
hear you in time." The woman's laugh frightened Sarah, in desperation
she tries to get away.
Running without hesitation, Sarah stops to find herself in Eagle Hill
Cemetery, walking towards the Collins family mausoleum, a fog drifting
in from the sea, has carpeted the ground around her feet, causing
everything to appear ghostly white. Sarah can hear the sound of the
waves as they crash against the cliffs of Widows Hill, that are close
by.
Approaching the families final resting place Sarah sees someone
sitting on the steps of the family tomb.... Stopping to look Sarah
doesn't know what to think. "That looks like a little girl, sitting
there, what is that she's holding." Feeling afraid Sarah wants to go
home.
Turning away from the strange sight, Sarah sees a grave stone in the
mist, on the stone is a single name. "Jeremiah Collins" Sarah's hands
move to her cheeks in horror. "NO!" She cries as she runs for home...
bumping into a darkly cloaked figure... who turns around, as the cloaked
person looks down at her, Sarah can see that the person's mouth is
covered with blood! Sarah hears Barnabas' voice... she is about to
scream when she wakes up.
Peering out her window it is not yet dawn, Sarah springs from her
bed, dressing quickly she hopes to find Barnabas.
Before Sarah could reach Barnabas' room she sees Miss Winters slipping
into her room, Sarah follows her. Peeking into the room Sarah watches
as Victoria hides a large book. Sarah hides as she sees Victoria leave
her room and go down stairs.
Rushing back to find Barnabas, he is gone.
Sarah hears the rooster crow, climbing the winding staircase to the
upper most room Sarah looks out to see the sunrise, as the sun shines on
the water, she can see many beautiful colors, it is her favorite time of
day.
After her lessons were finished Sarah over hears Aunt Abigail speaking
to the Countess du Pre's. "I am going to send for someone who can tell
us if the powers of evil are at work in this house, he will be able to
help us find this evil and with the help of the lord fight it and send
it back to the depths of hell where it belongs.
The Countess Natalie du Pre's had just told Abigail that either
someone or a strange force had moved her tarot cards... they now
predicted doom for some one at Collinwood. "Who is this person you will
send for." The Countess asks.
Abigail folds her hands as if in prayer... "I heard of his good work
in Salem... I know he is a man of god... I only know his name to be
Reverend Trask, he will be able to help find the witch living in this
house." Natalie is not sure about Abigail summoning a witch hunter,
although she is sure there are forces at work in Collinwood.
For the remainder of the day Sarah's hopes of seeing her brother fade
away, with the setting of the sun, Sarah fears Barnabas will never know
the terrible secret she keeps.
