We lived in Miami when it had its first recorded snowfall in '77. We
referred to it as the "year of the blight," b/c it killed or nearly
killed much of the tropical vegetation so prevelant in south Florida.
We were transferred to Syracuse, NY shortly thereafter where I learned
what a snowfall (and *cold*) really looked like!
