In an effort to make the newsgroup friendlier and more happy on this
holiday weekend, I have decided that it would be nice if we all do
something very simple (and very Irish, I might add...) yet small to
memorialize Grandpa Shawn's character on DOOL.
Next time we eat pototoes...anything with potatoes in them at
all....even a McDonald's french fry.....raise your fork or your fry in
memory of Grandpa Shawn and his deep, jolly Irish laugh. People eat
potatoes so often, that I'm thinking that within a week to ten day's
time, everyone here at the NG will have, without really even thinking
about it, collectively remembered "Pop" in unison. (If you are somehow
allergic to potatoes, just watch somebody else for a few seconds while
they are munching on one, smile and think of Gramps Brady!)
So toast up those taters, folks, and think one last time of your
favorite TV Grandpa. Yeah, it sounds kind of goofy, but it's just a
small gesture to remember the famililal warmth that Frank Parker
brought to the show for so many decades and it's a way for the
newsgroup to align together in a friendly effort all for the same
reason. :-)
