Since Ice brought it up, here's the story of how my bf ended up with a
concussion... I've already posted it before so have no problem with
reposting it.
We'd been at my son's wedding and were driving about 450 miles to visit
my mother. At lunch and the gas stop he bought a 2 ltr Coke and drank it
within about an hour because he was thirsty. No surprise, he needed to
make a pit stop, so we did. I waited for him to come out and waited and
after a bit, a young man came out of the men's side and asked if I was
traveling with a guy, he'd passed out. He had while peeing out all that
coke and hit his head on the way down. They called for an ambulance and
we went back to the closest town. Being a small town, they decided to
air lift him to a larger hospital to get checked out further, so he got
a $10,000 plane ride and I drove 4 hours back to the city we'd left that
afternoon arriving about 1 am. After keeping him for a bit over 24 hours
they pronounced him alright enough that we could fly back home. He did
suffer a concussion and it kept him off work for a week. The doctors
said this happens sometimes in men - because of the large amount of
fluid he voided, it caused a drop in blood pressure and lightheadness,
which since he was standing, made him faint. It's called a Vaso-Vagal
reflex if anyone's interested enough to look it up.
Now how Ice got his version out of that boggles the mind. Of course,
he'll say I'm lying....
