Re: Hope needs a kick in the butt

First, sorry for all the life/death experiences in your life. I've only had

one and that was my mother three years ago. She died from complications
due
to gallbladder surgery. The cause of death was ARDS.
I think Hope knows in her heart that Bo will is going to die if something
is
not done immediately. I don't think she's giving him false hope. He knows
how serious his condition is. She's encouraging him to hang on in hopes
that
the surgery will be successful.

Oh, Cindi, more times than I care to remember. My father who died of
pancreatic cancer lingered for a month in the hospital. My mother was
in and out of a coma for 11 days following knee surgery from a heart
attack and ultimately we had to "unplug" her and let her go. My
brother suffered for six months following a massive stroke and then
died (in my presence) of a brain tumor. My sister wasted away from
colon/lung/liver cancer until she was nothing but skin and bones. My
best friend was hit by a train and suffered severe agony for several
hours before she finally gave in.

There are others also. Never once did anyone give any of them false
hope that they were not going to die. The kindest thing to do is
accept it and help them through it any way you can. Amazingly enough,
it's usually the people left behind that have the most trouble. The
one who's dying has pretty much accepted it and has made peace with
it. That's been my experience anyway.

Bonbon
