I call him Roaming Roman because he's always roaming around Salem
telling people off and getting in their business. (I call him a
snowman because he always tries to act so strong, like nothing can
melt him away.) He's a cop for the sake of being a cop and not
necessarily for the *right* reasons. I'm no anarchist, but I have an
EXTREME distance for police officers and teachers who get involved in
those types of jobs just to flash around their authority and make
THEMSELVES feel im****tant and not because they want to create a sense
of change, a sense of community and a sense of personal growth and
responsibility from within in others.
He's a cop for the selfish reasons, in other words and not to really
help out Salem, for the most part. This became more evident when Josh
Taylor took over the role. Wayne Northrop's roman was more of a civic
leader with a heart and a conscience. I make fun of Roman a whole lot,
you'll see if you stick around for long, but more so than most
posters, when he does something that I respect and admire, I'm the
first to pat him on the back and give him props for FINALLY showing
his human side. :-)
