You thought he was mid to late thirties? No way. Look at his eyelids,
his forehead and his mouth. I thought from the get go, even in casual
clothing that Dr. Jonas *HAD* to be at least 42 on screen to be
believable since he looks at least 43 in real life. He's got almost as
many eye crinkles as Hope and I think she's about 48 (in real life...)
only he looks sexy that way and she doesn't. Don't get me wrong. Some
women look great with eye crinkles...Jessica Walter on Arrested
Development for instance....GORGEOUS......same with Jane Seymour. Just
doesn't work well on Alphonso, though.
A) She has huge, ominous eyes that are too large for the rest of her
face to begin with.
B) As she gets older, she's got a vein in her forehead that pops out
in her "I'm nervous" scenes. The eye crinkles matched with the big
worry vein make me think immediately of the grandmother character (I
think her name was Mrs. Haversham or something?) in the book Great
Expectations and then I get super creeped out.
