It's more interesting than looking at chubby, scruffy Bo Brady with
Cover Girl peach eyeshadow all over him to make it look like he's
suffering from pancreatic failure for five television hours a week. I
think that aside from a few scenes with Stephen Nicols and Peggy McKay
(Steve and Caroline) the whole Bo has a failing pancreas storyline was
a complete waste of time. EVERYONE and their mother out there in
viewer land knew he wasn't going to die or be killed off the show. It
was incredibly sad that Roman was nowhere to be found save for maybe
one or two episodes throughout the whole ordeal. Even then, he only
appeared on screen for like five minutes during each episode.



After all the history on this show that they've been through as
brothers, that was a true slap in the face for the longtime viewers.
Same with Abe! Bo is not just Abe's employee. They're close friends. I
realize that Abe was trying to let his wife Lexie do her job, but Abe
was nowhere to be seen when everyone was worried that Bo was giving
up. Abe (and Shawn Sr., Mickey, Doug and Tom Horton) have always been
the older male characters on the show who would give Bo his pep talks
and get him to finally come around.


This stuff with Ava deserves an Oscar compared to the absolute crap
that the writers dealt the viewers during this whole Bo's Health
Crisis storyline. Honestly, how can you expect the Ava storyline to be
wonderful when the character herself is still a mystery and her
secrets aren't even supposed to fully unfold until Steve or his loved
ones are in *absolute* danger? That's the best way to unravel the
mystery, really. You can't let the cat out of the bag about Ava too
soon or else once the danger really goes full throttle there will be
no surprises. Timing is everything when adding a new character on to
the canvas, especially one with a past that is supposed to be as loopy
and nutballish as hers.
