Not sure what the point of that statement was. The VCR wasn't invented
back
in 1939, but we have Gone With the Wind on VHS *and* DVD. Unless you're
referring to the time period when shows were performed live, then yeah,
there may be no footage of those performances unless the studios taped
them
and archived them.
