Well, JJ, Dave B....whatever..since you brought it up.
No, my mother did not "slap" me at all. In fact, I was raised by my
father as my parents divorced when I was quite young. As for my
mother, they remained best of friends and I saw her quite often. In
fact, I was with her when she DIED of a nasty staph infection not so
long ago after a long illness in hospital.
This was approximately 1.5 years before my father, who I also nursed
through cancer died in hospital with me at his bedside. I also have 2
brothers who have passed along if you'd care to take a jab at them as
well BTW.
No, neither of them "complimented me with one hand and slapped me down
with the other". Rather, they taught me to call a spade a spade. I
am not running "hot and cold" but following their advice. If I
disagree or take offense to something that ANYONE says, I will respond
accordingly. If I agree or happen to find beauty in the photo of a
person that I don't normally get along with, I will also respond
accordingly, regardless of past feelings.
So, in closing...while you're back at the hosp. meeting with your
shrink and picking up your meds, you may want to ask your Dr. for a
referral to a specialist who would be willing to remove your foot from
your mouth and your head from your ass.
